Marriage — The Card Game of Life
Before the game begins, Partners need to be introduced and become acquainted.
When we are young we meet and make new friends and before long the dating age is upon us. With some - they may find that one partner and stay with him or her for life. For others - they may have to play out a few hands until that special someone emerges. That special person who one enjoys playing this Card Game with; This Game of Life.
These Partners find they have that common bond, that common thread. When the cards are dealt they can tell by the glance of their partner’s eyes or the curl of their lip, whether it is a good hand or bad / a win or a loss.
Then as time moves forward, the couple begins to mature; the real game of life takes shape.
At times when each one bids, they bid on what their partner holds; or they play with the expectation of their partner following their lead. There will be times when another team may trump in and the couple will need to work out a new strategy.
Then there will be the occasions where the hand that they are dealt, that they will pull in trick after trick. The cards just fall into place; they’ll hold all that it takes to win! And yet, there will be times when no matter how hard the two of them try — Nothing — the place — absent of all reasoning. A time when it will require all that they have just to stay in the game.
There will be times when each will have to play their own hands, seperately — go at it alone; but they never fold. They continue to play and with each passing hand a new strategy is developed. The two of them will come to realize that it is not in the winning or in the losing; but that they stay in the game; they never give up.
They’re in for the long haul. They’ve committed to God and to Man to play it out! The hands that they are dealt will hold the keys to their marital success and longevity.
The ACE is the ALMIGHTY - the Maker of heaven and earth.
The KING is the RULER of Everything - either Born or Created.
The QUEEN is the SON’S BRIDE - She is God’s people, and She - the Wife - is to love and respect her husband.
The JACK is the SON - who marries the BRIDE, and He - the Husband - is to love and give His Life for his wife.
The TRUMP is the HOLY SPIRIT - The Trump is Power! - and Remember, even a little trump can take a big trick.
So partners - play the hands that you are dealt. Enjoy marriage, Enjoy a full life together. May your Card Game of Life be blessed and overflowing with: Everlasting Love, Riches, and Happiness throughout this life and the life to come. John 1:1-18
